The apartments are fairly small, so this isn’t the place for anyone looking for luxury. But for a ski trip where you’re out on the slopes all day, then out for dinner or drinks, it’s just right, with a place to sleep and have breakfast. It’s well equipped, and the in-room Nespresso machine was a nice touch. You can walk to the village of Saalbach in about 10 minutes. In the morning it’s a two-minute walk to the piste, and in the afternoon you can ski right to the ski room door. For a village that’s typically expensive, it’s great value. I’d stay again.

The landlord went to a lot of trouble to help get our skis home after the airline suddenly refused to take our ski bag on the return flight. Service was friendly, and the location was very nice, less than a 10-minute walk from the centre of Saalbach. I strongly recommend this place.

There’s a nice view, especially from the upper apartments, and the location is good. Still, I wouldn’t choose this place again. The building is old and less attractive than others nearby, and room 2 was small and dirty. It’s about 1 km up a steep hill. You never see anyone from the staff, and the keys are left in an electronic box, which felt impersonal and I simply don’t like it. The Wi-Fi was okay, but kept cutting out. There’s no proper bike room, just a hall with no doors that’s open 24/7.

The building feels crowded, with eight small apartments, and it wasn’t clean. Some balconies have no view, and insects make it hard to sit outside. The furniture is old, the bathrooms are ugly, and there’s no good ventilation in the building. The photos show just one bathroom for a building with eight apartments.

Landhaus Bernkogel made for a great ski holiday. The apartments have plenty of space, a fine bathroom, reliable free Wi-Fi, and a TV with Netflix. I had a great time there. The walk uphill from Saalbach is long, so you need to be okay with that, but I’d definitely recommend the place.
