Great, modern, spacious apartments.
It’s a lovely, quiet spot, and Maria Alm is an easy short walk away. The charming little town has everything you need, from shops and boutiques to restaurants and gas stations. Just keep in mind that it can be a bit noisy. We were skeptical because there weren’t many reviews, but that turned out to be completely unfounded. Apartment 1 is just the right size for two. The furnishings, especially in the bedroom, are very basic and could use an upgrade. The kitchen was adequate for us, though a few more dishes would be welcome. The living room and dining table are great, and the curtains give the place a lovely alpine feel. The bathroom was sufficient too. Everything was very clean, and communication was friendly and smooth. There was furniture on the terrace, and the lawn was good for summer sports like badminton. In the ski room we could dry wet rain jackets and boots. There’s a washing machine and dryer there, plus a boot dryer and ski rack for skiers.
On December 31, at 7 pm, the property manager called to say the owner had cancelled our booking. We were meant to leave at 6 the next morning, and had been getting ready for our New Year's Eve celebration. This was for a January ski holiday, starting January 1, 2025, at the Sion 4 house, which we booked through Airbnb back in November. The management company had confirmed everything and sent the important details, then confirmed again two days before arrival. We couldn't find another affordable place to stay on such short notice, so we had to give up the trip. It ruined New Year's Eve and the whole vacation for all five of us. The management company only said, "we're sorry," and the owner didn't apologize at all. I don't know who the owner is, but I hope he feels guilty about ruining the start of 2025 for five people.
Our apartment was modernly renovated, fully equipped, and had its own parking space. It made a good starting point for walks in the beautiful surroundings. The house sits in a lovely spot at the edge of an alpine pasture, with mountain views and horses and cows nearby. Maria Alm is within walking distance.
Apartment 1 is in a quiet spot at the edge of the village, and the garden terrace is lovely. It was clean throughout, freshly renovated, newly furnished, and the price was fairly reasonable. Cooking there would be difficult, though. Storage is limited, and the kitchen is very poorly equipped: there isn't even a whisk, let alone a blender, and it also lacks a large stockpot, deep plates, larger knives, wooden spoons, and other basics. The landlord is only reachable on arrival day, with no response to questions before or after.
