The price was great, and we’d definitely book here again. We stayed at Oberstockinghof for eight nights and were warmly welcomed. The clean apartment is well placed for skiing, and the friendly host would ask us each day how it had gone when he saw us come back.

A clean, warm and quiet guesthouse. Getting up the hill can be tricky in heavy snow, so check Google Maps first and then drive straight to the top without stopping.

The setting is lovely, with animals and meadows all around, plus a fire pit and a brick barbecue. There’s a sauna downstairs, and I could borrow a bicycle for free. Eggs, a one-off breakfast and salad are available if you ask. The family is friendly, and the holiday apartment works well, with a nice view and a kitchen that has what you need. The bathroom is screened off with a curtain, and the floorboards creak. The price for what you get is good. We had a lot of rain that week, though the sunny days were wonderful. The little children were up early and could be heard, as could the tractor.

The hosts were very nice, and there are horses, donkeys and a cat outside the house. It’s a beautiful, peaceful area with lovely mountain views, a great place for a quiet holiday.
