Villa Neuwirth

We loved our stay in this country house from 1900. From a comfortable height, it has a stunning view over the Danube’s picturesque Altarm, and our ground-floor apartment came with use of the lovely backyard and its panoramic outlook. The hostess was very nice and made us feel welcome, including our dog, while still giving us privacy. We got everything you’d expect from a “Zimmer frei” arrangement, and more. It had that feeling of the good old days, and we’d consider coming back.

The setting is beautiful, with a well-kept garden and a villa that looks charming at first. But our room was dirty, the furniture was old and worn, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work. The bathroom door wouldn’t close either. When we arrived in the evening, there was shaving foam and hair in the sink, the toilet seat was dirty, and the bathroom rugs hadn’t been changed. I complained the next day. The 85-year-old grandma apologized for not cleaning the bathroom and said she’d take care of it, but only the rugs were changed. Everything else was still dirty, so I had to buy sanitizing wipes and clean it myself. We left very disappointed after two nights, even though we’d booked three.

A great base for cycling and swimming in the Danube. The accommodation was flawless, and parking was easy.

The price and quality are excellent, and there’s parking available. The hostess was friendly, and the villa residence has a classy feel.
