Small Luxury Boutique Hotel Himmlhof

Hotel Himmlhof felt like one of the best ski hotels we’ve ever stayed in. We’ve visited many wonderful resorts internationally, and this place is right up there. Its quiet street is just behind the main pedestrian area of Dorfstraße, and it’s about a five-minute walk to the main lift, the Galzigbahn. The hotel has no restaurant, and although we’ve often chosen half-board stays before, we preferred having the flexibility to eat out. The hotel’s restaurant recommendations were excellent and helped us enjoy a range of local options. The Penz family, Margherita, Sebastian and Chris, were outstanding hosts. Their warmth, care and attention to detail made every part of our stay feel special. The hotel has the charm of a traditional Tyrolean chalet, reimagined with a contemporary, elegant feel. The furniture, colours and textures are beautifully chosen, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Our room was stylish, comfortable and beautifully presented, in keeping with the rest of the hotel. Breakfast each morning was amazing, with a generous, high-quality selection, and we loved coming back for the afternoon post-ski snack. After a day on the slopes, we also enjoyed unwinding in the spa, with its small pool, two saunas, steam room, ice bath and relaxation beds. Compared with other places we’ve stayed, it offers very good value for the experience. We can’t recommend Hotel Himmlhof highly enough to anyone visiting St Anton. It was a wonderful stay, and we’d return without hesitation.
