Hotel zur Pfeffermühle

The staff deserve the most praise. Everyone was lovely and went out of their way to look after guests, with a very high level of hospitality. My wife and I stayed at Hotel Zur Pfeffermuhle in the first week of March 2026, and after 35 years of skiing in Austria, this ranks among our best stays. The hotel is in a very quiet part of St Anton, around a quiet 15-20 minute walk along a residential and hotel lined street, or by the riverside, from the lively town centre. A shuttle runs to Nassarein Ski lift, only about a two minute drive away. Our second floor room was large, modern and comfortable. The restaurant and modern, comfortable bar were great, the food was fantastic, and the 3-5pm afternoon snacks were welcome after a day on the mountain. The wellness and relaxation areas were modern and exceptional.

We’ll definitely return to Hotel zur Pfeffermühle in St. Anton. The owners and staff were warm, helpful, and great with logistics. Breakfast was extensive, and dinner was consistently delicious. After skiing, the spotless saunas were ideal for recovery. The lifts were close by, with a prompt, accessible shuttle. Our room was always clean and just right for a deep rest. A real gem in the Alps.

The restaurant is one of the best in St Anton, so I’d book half board if you can. Breakfast was incredible, and the daily menu made dinner outstanding too. For getting to the lifts, a hotel driver runs to Nasserinbahn from opening until 11am and again from 3pm-5pm. Outside those times, the free ski bus stops 50m away every 30 minutes, or hourly at night. There are free ski lockers at the Nasserinbahn lift, plus a herbal pillow menu. Our room was spacious and modern, and the spa was lovely. The service was perfect. This is easily the best ski hotel experience we’ve had, with no faults at all, and it’s set a new standard for us. We’re looking forward to coming back.

We’ve just returned from two nights at Pfeffermühle, and it was a fabulous short stay. The hotel sits in a peaceful spot on the edge of town, and the rooms are lovely and very clean. Even little details were considered, from the towels and pillows to the toilet paper. The staff were so friendly, attentive, and helpful. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. Nothing to fault, I can only recommend it.
