Schlosshotel Kassegg

This was our third stay here. The Stockbettzimmer is comfortable and good value, with comfortable mattresses and a basic but clean bathroom. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets were good quality and there was plenty of food. We booked a luxury double room for the grandparents, and it was beautiful with a nice bathroom.

The breakfast was a highlight: delicious, with plenty of choice and excellent gluten-free bread available on request. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was spotless. Our third-floor room had fantastic views, and the calm surroundings made for a refreshing break. Schloss Kassegg Naturhotel sits among beautiful forest and spacious grounds, with lovely scenery that’s great for hikers and families. There’s a large adventure playground, better suited to older children, plus parking for more than 40 cars. The rooms were comfortable, and the service felt professional and welcoming. We did hear a loud snorer from the adjoining room, though that seemed like an isolated issue and didn’t greatly affect our stay. We only stayed one night and wished we’d had longer to explore and enjoy the area. Schloss Kassegg Naturhotel is a delightful choice for families and nature lovers.

Our third-floor room had a fantastic view, and everything was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was included and very good, with excellent gluten-free bread on request. The only small downside was hearing heavy snoring from the adjoining room, though I think that person would challenge most walls. There’s also a good adventure playground, better for older kids than little ones. I wish we’d had more time to explore the area.

The restaurant’s fixed three-dish evening menu was the reason I didn’t give five stars. Even if you’re not very hungry, you still have to go through all three courses. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful scenery, its biggest strength, and there’s a large estate you can explore on foot near the forest. It’s great for hikers, and there doesn’t seem to be another hotel for miles. Service was excellent and professional, breakfast was fantastic, and the rooms were comfortable. There’s parking for more than 40 cars. The room price was fairly affordable for the quality of the stay. We’ll come back.
