We were pleasantly surprised by how spacious the rooms were and how lovely the views looked. There’s parking just outside, and the location works well for walks or a trip over to Italy. The people were super nice, and the food was superb. A really great place, and one I can only recommend.

The atmosphere here is great, and the staff are so friendly. I loved the amazing food too. Can’t wait to come back and stay here again next year.

In 2025, they don't take cards.

You won’t lose weight here, because Uschi turns out such delicious food in the kitchen. Hans is often around in the dining room, and together they make the team so welcoming and friendly. Up here in the Defereggen Valley, it’s a place to properly relax.
10/10
The rooms are cozy, the service feels personal, and everything is prepared with care. The Alpenrose has been the best place to stay in the valley for decades, across generations. It’s way up at the top of the Defereggen Valley. Once you’ve stayed here, you’ll come back. Guaranteed!
