Intermontana Hotel Garni

Dasha and Alexander were a huge help planning outings for our family of four, including our two young kids. They gave us great advice and provided “summer cards” for free bus rides, gondola trips up the mountains, and different activities. We don't have a car yet, but got around by bus by timing our trips with the schedule. The children loved the trampoline and the lovely playground in the hotel garden. We had such a wonderful vacation in Tirol at Intermontana Hotel. It's cozy and exceptionally clean, right in the middle of a beautiful setting, with a breathtaking view from our room. We started each day with a delicious breakfast and useful suggestions from the owners about what to do that day. We're definitely coming back. We went in January with our boys, who were two and six at the time. It was the first hotel where we felt safe letting them walk around on their own or hang out in the small but well-equipped games room, which has a Playstation, while we relaxed in our room. There's also a garden where kids can play. Since the owners live there too, everything is well cared for, and it has a bit of an Airbnb feel. The Burinskii family are wonderful hosts, and we felt welcome from day one. You can tell they built this place themselves with a lot of heart. There are only about six rooms, all with balconies and hot showers, furnished in local style and kept extremely clean. Guests are asked to wear slippers or socks indoors. At the entrance, a large changing room gives you space to store boots, ski jackets, and gear. Breakfast in the traditional Austrian dining room is elaborate, with special orders like omelettes or porridge. The hotel doesn't serve lunch or dinner, but a short walk down the road takes you to a nice restaurant at Hotel Wiese, open from 6 pm, with good pizza and local dishes. The hosts are hardworking and happy to help plan trips or share useful information. They even put on an evening barbecue at the hotel. It was a bit pricey, but worth it, with a cozy open fire, marshmallows and juice for the kids, and special punch for adults. The Pitztal glaciers and ski areas are nearby, the shuttle stops at the hotel, and there are several parking lots just across the road.

Daria and Alexander were incredibly helpful hosts and made our vacation as enjoyable as possible. We loved the beautiful surroundings, the delicious breakfasts, and the spacious room. The service was outstanding.

The owners put together a personal program every day, and the location and hospitality were fantastic. We had such an amazing experience, unlike anything we'd had before, that we extended our stay. My nine-year-old daughter loved the place and all the different activities each day.
