Hideaway Dachstein West by ALPS RESORTS

The location was nice and the room was pleasant. There was no breakfast, and the service cost a lot. The pool wasn’t as warm as I’d expected, with only four day beds. Getting up there meant putting on snow chains, which was annoying.

Elizabeth, the manager, made us feel right at home during our 17 days at the Hideaway. We had a superior room with two bedrooms, plenty of space, comfortable beds and a fully equipped kitchen. The pool was great too. It was a fantastic vacation, and we hope to come back.

We arrived outside staff hours, but the key box access worked well. The hotel and its location were great, and the kitchen was fully equipped. The bedding was really good quality. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

I booked through booking for an apartment with a pool view, which I understood to mean an open view, but was given a room overlooking the backyard and parking lot. One receptionist didn’t speak English; the other ignored my complaint and said there weren’t any such apartments available. Looking more closely at the booking reviews afterwards, I saw other guests who said they’d ordered pool view rooms and ended up with a “backyard” view too. I now think I should have checked those reviews more carefully. It feels like false advertising, and it was really disappointing, since the view is the whole point of a hotel like this. 🙁
