Biedermeier Hof

Parking was rough, though there is nearby underground parking or parking in the town square. My room was very clean and insulated well against the cold. There wasn't a room with a kitchen available, but that's not the hotel's fault. The place feels historic, and I'm still impressed by the windows and doors. I'd love to have ones like them at home in the United States, though they're probably outlawed there. There's also what looks like a bowling alley in reception.

The owners are an elderly couple, and their manner can feel a bit raw, more like a boarding house from years ago than professionally trained hospitality. I found that nostalgic rather than annoying. The rooms are plain but clean, the price is fair, and there's parking. I enjoyed my stay very much, and the location is perfect.

The location is excellent, which makes this especially disappointing. The owner and the receptionist were unbelievably rude. Whenever we asked a question or needed help, they seemed grumpy and not in the mood. Maybe living in Spain has changed my expectations, though I'm Austrian myself, but this was a bit of a cultural shock. I'll never book here again.

Everything was clean and very well maintained, and I thought it was a great hotel. The only drawback was a nearby church whose bells rang all night. Obviously, that's not the hotel's fault.
