Karwendel-Lodge

This was by far my worst AirBnB experience. We arrived as a group of eight and were told we’d been “upgraded” from the large room we booked to two separate rooms. That left us without a shared space or a table where we could all eat together, which was one of the main reasons we chose the property. We calmly and politely asked to see the original room, which still seemed to be available and set up. The owner immediately started yelling at us and physically shoved me at one point. The shouting went on for over an hour. We were called “ungrateful” and felt extremely uncomfortable. This happened while we were making dinner. The owner then took back the “upgrade” and screamed at us to move to the original room, disrupting our meal and plans. Her husband came too, yelled at us, moved our things, and said he’d call the police if we didn’t remove our belongings from the room we’d been “upgraded” to. The whole situation was chaotic and stressful. The owners weren’t willing to communicate respectfully or resolve things calmly, and we felt unsafe and unwelcome. At 10pm, finding another place for eight people wasn’t an option. I strongly advise against booking here. Respectful communication doesn’t exist in this house. My friend, who booked through AirBnB, would rate them there too, but somehow the listing is gone now.

Elena was a super host. She helped us a lot and suggested lovely places to visit in the area. The apartment was clean and comfortable, with an exciting view of the mountains. My family loved our stay, and we had an amazing vacation. I highly recommend it if you’d like a great holiday in the Alps.

A quiet, clean place in a perfect location. The host was very friendly and nice.

The host was friendly and ready to help. The hotel felt cosy, almost like home, and there are mountains all around. It’s also near the river. A wonderful place to stay, highly recommended.
