Landhaus Riedl

We saw a lot during our five days here, thanks to the central location. Innsbruck, Seefeld, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Zugspitze, Mittenwald and Bad Tölz are all not far away. The village itself is quiet, with a bakery, a great little pizzeria and the traditional Bavarian restaurant Speckklause. The apartment was lovely, clean and had everything we needed. The mountain view from the coffee table was fantastic. The landlord’s lovely mother, who lives in the house, greeted us, and the landlord stopped by twice to see if we needed anything. We highly recommend Landhaus Riedl. Best wishes from Thuringia.

You can set off straight from these lovely apartments for a hike or bike ride in the Karwendel mountains. The hosts are very friendly. The bakery, sausage shop and small grocery store are just a short walk away, and a supermarket is due to reopen in November. There are also bus and train connections in the village. We’d gladly stay again! 👍

We can’t recommend this country house. Communication before arrival was already very difficult. We checked in using the door code and found a bedroom that hadn’t been made up. The mattresses were lying across one another, unmade, and the bedding was on the sofa. We had no idea whether it was fresh. At first we couldn’t reach Mr. Riedl by phone. He later messaged on WhatsApp that he’d sort it out, but nothing happened. The next morning the cleaning lady came with the guest cards. She said she hadn’t been told we were arriving Friday, only that we’d come Sunday, so she hadn’t made the beds. She didn’t want to deal with it then, saying communication with Mr. Riedl had never been satisfactory. We also learned the mattresses had been left out to air because a previous guest had urinated on them. Disgusting. We had to sleep on them, with nowhere else to go, and were left in that situation for three days. Absolutely outrageous. We got half our money back, but they refused a full refund when we asked. I can only advise people to avoid this place. The tourist office was informed and also asked me to make this review public.

The Arnspitze apartment is spacious and well furnished, with three balconies offering lovely mountain views. The country house is in a quiet spot. Bakeries and restaurants are only a 5-7 minute walk away.
