Hotel Pension Asingerhof

Fantastic hotel in a fantastic location.

The rooms were huge, with a separate toilet as well as a shower bathroom, and we had a big balcony. We were four people and stayed five nights during the Bavarian winter holidays. Since skiing was the main point of our trip, Asingerhof suited us perfectly. From the farm, you can take a towpath straight to the Fastenbergbahn cable car and buy ski passes there. The hosts can also drive you there by tractor and trailer at 9:00 AM. Coming back, you can ski right from the slopes to the farm or get picked up by tractor and trailer at 4:00 PM. There’s sledding right behind the house, too. The house has a ski room, a ski boot room, a sauna, and a whirlpool tub for an extra charge, plus table football. Breakfast is a buffet. In the evening there’s a small menu with sausages, fries, pizza, and toast, along with a different extra dish each day if you give advance notice. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Buying ski passes online ahead of time for several days is highly recommended, as it saves a lot of money.

We stayed as a family for two weeks and really liked the mountain karts. It’s nice to find a place with play equipment for older kids, too. The house is lovely and the service was warm and friendly. It’s very quiet, with great hiking trails starting right outside. We did miss having a drinks machine or fridge, though it wasn’t a big deal since the weather wasn’t that hot.

The children especially loved seeing all the animals, and the air was so good. Our room was spacious, with a lovely view over the city, valley, and mountain opposite. Breakfast was delicious and the service polite. The owners were kind and flexible.
