The week of skiing was a treat, and Hotel Starchlhof made it even better. We could ski straight from the hotel to the slopes and back, and the Alpine-style foyer felt welcoming as soon as we arrived. We were there for Christmas 2025 with our two children. The owners are a warm, hospitable couple who made us feel at home. Our older son is nearly two metres tall, so the family room felt a little cramped for him. The owner kindly gave him another room at no extra charge, which we really appreciated. Dinner was a highlight every night: a different menu and delicious four-course meals. We especially liked the organic Alpine beef. The Christmas dinner included a superb steak that could have held its own in a top restaurant, and each guest received homemade cookies baked by the owners’ grandmother. Such a thoughtful, personal touch. We had a wonderful holiday and would gladly return. I highly recommend Hotel Starchlhof for an Alpine getaway.

We loved being on the farm, with all the animals and herbs around. The Summer Card was included, which saved us a lot of money, and Schledming was a great base for day trips. The rooms were big and super clean, and we had everything we needed. This family-run place is our favorite in Austria. Everyone was warm and welcoming. Absolutely perfect stay!!!

This was our fourth ski trip at Hotel Starchlhof, and we had another fantastic stay. The staff deserve a symbolic sixth star: they were friendly and helpful throughout, even with our big, loud group, and made us feel at home. Our rooms were spacious and luxurious, and the apartments work perfectly for large groups. Breakfast and dinner were both generous and delicious. We could ski from the hotel to the slopes, then glide right back at the end of the day. Snow was limited this year, but the runs were well groomed and there was plenty of good skiing. We’re already looking forward to coming back :)
