The location and facilities could make this a solid three- or four-star property, but the hospitality was poor. We stayed in the lovely ground-floor Garden Room, which had a great view. The problem was the patio and floodlights. They came on at 4pm and blinded us, even though we were on a mountainside where we hoped to enjoy the stars and the stunning mountain scenery without light pollution. At 8:30pm on our first night, I asked if the lights could be switched off. The innkeeper said no, they would go off automatically at 23:30. She also said our room had blackout shades. It had shades, but they weren’t blackout, and the lights never went off that first night. The next day, I had to tell her four times that they were still on, and she argued with me. I showed her a photo taken at 3:30am, with our room bright as a summer day. Only then did she look into making sure the lights would go off at 23:30 that night. They finally did, and we could enjoy the night landscape, stars and planets, but by then it was the middle of the night. If you want a mountain stay with nature and welcoming service, this isn’t the place for you. So much potential, such poor service.

The first ski lift is less than 50 metres from the hotel, and there’s a warm, pleasant locker room for skis and boots. We had a very nice stay in a clean four-person room. Breakfast each morning had lots of choice, and we enjoyed the varied, good-quality dinner in the evenings. Special thanks to the very kind Anita, who was there almost every morning and evening. Thank you!

The lady owner gave us such a warm welcome. She was helpful, kind and very polite. Our room was spacious, very clean and furnished in a modern style, with a comfortable bed, good-quality bedding and excellent pillows. Everything we needed to rest well and keep skiing. The hotel is in an excellent spot, right across the street from the Hochwurzen I and II cable cars. Breakfast was perfect. Highly recommended!

The kitchen was fantastic, and the staff took my food allergies seriously, helping well beyond what I expected. The hotel is beautiful and in an amazing spot, just 45 steps from the ski slope.
