Sporthotel Royer

There’s plenty to do near the hotel, which is very close to the lift up the mountain, and the pool facilities have lots of space without getting too crowded. We had a good room, though it was really hot trying to sleep, as it was over 25C most days and there was no air conditioning. The food was very good, and the restaurant is also good for birthday celebrations. Service was generally high, with most workers doing their best. One bar waiter rudely said, "I don't have time" when we tried to order, but thankfully another waiter came over five minutes later, quickly brought a drink, and seemed to notice I wasn’t satisfied. We spent 3 days here on a small family vacation and can recommend the hotel.

The restaurant staff were especially nice, and meals had lots of variety and tasted good, including vegetarian, lactose-free, and other healthy options. The hotel was clean throughout, with big rooms that were a bit too heated for us. There was a large heated ski room and plenty of parking, and we could use the table tennis for free, along with the saunas and public swimming pools. It’s close to the slope, an easy 10-minute walk in snowboard boots, and the hotel offers a ski shuttle bus for skiers. We really enjoyed our stay.

The food was fantastic, with a huge breakfast selection, great dinners, and even some Gala Dinners. Afterward, the cosy bar with its real fire was a lovely place to sit. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the kids are already asking to come back next year. It’s an excellent location, just a 5-minute walk from the Planai Lift station, with a shuttle bus if you don’t fancy walking. There’s also a lovely pool for the kids and a great sauna and steamroom for weary legs. We had an amazing week at the Sporthotel Royer, highly recommend it, and would stay again.

The manager’s behavior was the worst part of an already upsetting situation. Someone accidentally took our child’s skis, and it was a huge upset for our five-year-old. We knew from the start who had them, but after five days with no update, I asked the receptionist whether anyone had contacted that person. She had nothing to tell me. Then the manager came out from behind her, repeatedly interrupted me, seemed irritated, and eventually brushed me off while muttering something in her language that didn’t sound kind. I can’t remember her name, but she was a blonde woman not wearing local attire. I really hope the hotel takes action over this.
