That strong frying-oil smell in the indoor restaurant was the one real drawback. It hung around from the afternoon until the kitchen closed. We ate outside the first evening because the weather was nice, and went elsewhere the next day when it was raining. We came by car for two nights after needing a place in the area at short notice, so we didn't hike up. The road is narrow, steep, and full of sharp bends, but on a clear day the views on the way up are amazing. Staff were busy when we arrived, though still friendly. There's no separate reception, so the people serving tables also handle check-in. Our room was simple, clean, and practical. The shared toilets and bathrooms were very clean too, and the bathroom is spacious enough to use with children. The front windows are set high, so whether you can see the view depends on your height; rooms at the back look away from the valley and mountains. A five-minute walk to the top gives you a gorgeous valley view. We enjoyed the little breakfast buffet, which had more than we expected. Dinner is available until 20:00. Apart from the smell, we had a lovely stay.
