Wellnesshotel Schönruh - Adults Only

The food was great, and although we don’t usually choose half board, I’d highly recommend it here. The hotel was beautiful, with an amazing spa, and the staff were lovely and welcoming. Spotlessly clean too.

The only things that made this stay bearable were a really nice young woman bartending and a very nice woman at the spa who gave us a morning massage. Otherwise, it was awful. We’d travelled through seven countries, and this was by far the worst hotel of the trip. It started with a rude exchange at reception. We’d booked online, but the reservation never asked for our card details, so we stopped in to explain that we weren’t sure what was happening. The woman kept asking, “Did you make one or not?” even after I tried to explain again. We should have left then, but decided to stay. The room was old and dingy, and the bed was the worst I’ve ever seen, basically a three-inch-thick pad. The spa closed at 7 pm, so we didn’t get to use it that night.

The scenery around the Schonruh is breathtaking, and the hotel is well placed near the railway station and town centre. We just spent a week there and had a great stay. The team were lovely, the rooms comfortable, and the food great. There are three swimming pools, including a natural outdoor pond that made for a refreshing dip. The spa and sauna area is large, with super relaxation rooms, and the beauty treatments were very good too. Thanks to everyone at the Schonruh. We’re already thinking about coming back soon! ❤

I was shocked by how unprofessional the reception staff were, and the Manager was extremely unprofessional too. Never stay at or visit this hotel. Avoid it at all costs and stay elsewhere. Zero stars.
