Hotel Restaurant Häupl

From the bed, we had a wonderful view of the Attersee, which is only 100m away. The rooms are comfortable and reasonably equipped, though not modern. The restaurant is elegant, and while the menu is short, the food was very good in both taste and portion size. A good spot for a brief business trip or a short break by the Attersee.

The restaurant was delicious right down to the last bite, and everything looked good too. We only stayed one night, but had a great time: the lake view from the room was stunning, the beds were soft and comfortable, and service was quick and helpful. Breakfast was great as well. It was quiet in the room, and we could bring our dog. Many thanks for a lovely stay, I’d gladly recommend it.

The balcony by room 121 had a wasp nest under the floor, and my dog was stung. Management removed the nest promptly, but the wasps were still there the next morning, and no one even apologized. I can’t imagine what might have happened if a child or another person had been stung. Apart from the view, not much stands out at this poorly maintained facility, and the room wasn’t very clean either, with long strands of hair everywhere. Breakfast had a great selection and was pretty good, and the restaurant area is very nice. Staff friendliness could use work.

The food was great and the location was amazing. An older woman and man who work there were absolutely lovely, which helped balance out the younger waitresses. Throughout our 3-day stay, those waitresses were rude and unwelcoming, making us feel like an inconvenience. When someone asked one of them to check their room because there was no hot water, she rolled her eyes or sighed in irritation.
