There were some nice touches: they surprised us for our wedding anniversary, and the meditation session with Christina was a really good experience. Our room was comfortable and very spacious, the beds were comfortable too, and we had the large, slightly dated spa mostly to ourselves. Parking was plentiful. The food was a major letdown for a four-star superior sports hotel. The choice, variety, quality, temperature and freshness all disappointed, as did the use of leftovers, the small meat and dessert portions, and the awful coffee. Since we had a dog and paid quite a lot extra for it, we were put in the room between the bar and the main dining area, where people kept walking past. It felt like we were being shut away. Some restaurant staff seemed more interested in petting the dogs than doing their jobs. The room cleaning could have been better as well. On arrival, we learned the cable cars had closed that very day, so the Gipfelticket advertised as part of the price wasn't valid for us. Poor value for the money.

The rooms and wellness facilities were excellent, and the staff were friendly. Being right beside the ski slopes made the location hard to beat. We felt it was great value for money.

We'd happily come back after a memorable four-night stay at Dolomiten Residenz Sporthotel Sillian. The hotel sits among the Tyrol mountains, a beautiful setting where it was easy to unwind. Our room was clean, roomy and comfortable, with stunning views. Everyone on staff was professional, friendly and ready to help. We also really enjoyed the meals, with lots of choice at both breakfast and dinner. After a day out or skiing, the wellness and spa area was a welcome extra. There's a good balance here between relaxing and getting out for adventures. We loved our time there and would recommend it.

The hotel is right across from the gondola, which makes it a great base for skiing. Sillian's ski area is small, but the fairly easy blue runs work well for kids, and it's fine for a few hours on the slopes. There's a ski depot, a big sauna area, an outdoor Finnish sauna and a swimming pool.

I’d recommend this hotel for a quiet, relaxing stay out of season, and it seems well suited to families. The service was top level, with impeccable staff, and the rooms were spacious. The spa was the best I’ve visited so far: a huge, well-kept sauna area, staff on hand, and nothing lacking. The outdoor sauna and the garden beside it, with its cooling tub, are unforgettable.
