Bergland Design- und Wellnesshotel

The staff were very good, the service was good, and the hotel is well located in town. Our room was new and clean, and both breakfast and half-board dinner were very good. Dinner changed every day, which we especially liked. We couldn’t make much use of the facilities. The outdoor pool was too cold and the indoor one too small. The spa is nude-only all day. At dinner, the owner asked for guest feedback, so I suggested dividing the spa by area or time so people who don’t want to use a nude spa could enjoy it too. He rejected the idea in a not very nice way, which made me wonder why he asked. The stay was generally fine, but at that price we’d hoped to swim and use the facilities. We didn’t manage to swim at all. Next time in Solden I’ll pick another hotel with usable facilities or a lower price.

The food was a highlight, with plenty of choice at breakfast, including fruit, yogurt, an egg station, and pastries, followed by a five-course dinner. The little haute cuisine tasters were nutritious, and left room to try the cheese selection if you wanted. We tried things we wouldn’t normally eat at home and really felt the benefit. The wine was high quality, with prices to match. We loved the Bergland, from the efficient, friendly, professional staff to the wellness spa and modern room, which had strong sustainable links. Getting to the slopes was easy by bus or the Zentrum funicular behind the hotel. It may cost a bit, but we thought it was worth it. I could go on, but just book and enjoy a wonderful hotel.

This hotel ruined my New Year holiday. It deserves four stars, staff included, and I’m appalled by the hygiene. I should have read how management responds to reviews before booking. Their attitude is arrogant and shows no sense of responsibility or service. Be careful with your bill, as they may add something incorrect. I chose to check out early and was charged 482 Euro. I don’t mind paying that amount, but I can’t accept the way this business is run, with no accountability or willingness to reflect. It’s such a shame to have someone like this leading the management team. This is 2026, and they have a decade of experience. I hope they update their knowledge of how to run a business. I totally recommend Das Central hotel instead. It’s much nicer for the whole experience and service. Just keep in mind this hotel is only four stars, so don’t expect more.

This is the most “4 Star” five-star hotel I’ve stayed in. It had the potential to be one of the great alpine hotels, but there are plenty of areas that need work. After checking out, I sent a detailed internal review with several issues and feedback points. The response I got was generic and useless, so unfortunately I’ve decided to leave a public review too.
