Getting here on public transport was tricky because we had to drag our bags across the ski run. Once there, though, it was easy to ski in and out, with just a short walk to the run and an easy route to the nearest gondola. The zentrum shuttle makes town easy to reach. The apartment is lovely and spacious, and the balcony has a lovely view.

Jennifer was an outstanding host and a great source of tips on things to do. Communication in both English and German was perfect. We’ll come back one day, perhaps next winter. The mountains and trails are awesome. The apartment was trendy, super clean and suited our downhill mountainbiking needs perfectly. We could jump straight on our bikes and hit the trails, with the apartment between both gondola lifts. The sauna and steam cabin were a welcome treat, and the morning bakery service always brought fresh bread on time when we ordered by 11:00 the day before. Internet was okay, depending on the time. There’s plenty to do nearby besides mountainbiking. Italy is around the corner, though check the opening hours at Timmelsjoch. Other options include horseback riding, kletteren, Aqua dome, a city trip to Innsbruck or a dip in the lake at Piburg. It’s perfectly located yet away from busy main street Sölden, about 5 minutes by car, and you can also opt for the Innerwald lift. In summer you can book the Royal apartments via Airbnb, and in winter through their own website.

The sauna and recovery room were lovely, and the location was great. I left my gloves behind, but they mailed them back to me!
