The salads were a standout for me, fresh, crisp, and dressed just right. Even the side salad felt like it had real care put into it. The rest of the homemade food at Café Pension Jäger was just as comforting, from hearty Austrian dishes to sweet treats. The place has that warm, relaxed feel from the moment you arrive, and the hosts are genuinely kind and thoughtful. With the mountain scenery all around in Walsertal, it’s a lovely spot to stay or stop for a meal. It’s one of those places that makes you want to come back.

A welcoming, traditional place that works well for Via Alpina hikers. I turned up drenched after walking in the rain, and the owner let me use the Heizraum to dry my clothes.

There’s a nice view from this little village, and Café Pension zum Jäger is only a short distance from Damüls, Faschina, and Raggal. Inside, it has a typical Austrian Stube, serves good traditional dishes, and the staff are very friendly.

The area is lovely if you want some peace and time to relax. We’ve been visiting the Jäger for several years, and the Meyer family has always made us feel welcome. The rooms are clean, the food is exceptionally good, and the owners are hospitable. Thank you to the whole family. It’s well worth a visit.
