Apartment Katharina

A thoughtfully designed apartment with everything well stocked. The valley views are great, and the ski areas are easy to get to.

We didn't need to bring our usual little extras this time. There were spices, coffee, tea, plenty of dishwasher tablets and kitchen towels, and we even got a lovely surprise of wine and dessert. The accommodation was beautiful and the kitchen fully equipped. The heating in the kitchen could use some attention, and the apartment could have a bit more humidity.

Thank you, Erler family! Everything was exceptionally tidy and clean. The apartment has charming furnishings and so many thoughtful details, including lots of children's games tucked away in a cupboard.

The main thing that bothered us was the damp, musty smell throughout the apartment. The air fresheners didn't help, so we put them outside during our stay. There seems to be a persistently damp wall or something similar, and I suspect the kitchenette area is the main source. In my opinion, the smell has even worked its way into some of the furniture. The landlords really need a better solution if they want to keep the apartment available long term. The apartment also felt too small for us. The booking site didn't give its size, and the photos made it look quite a bit bigger. Since the weather was good, we could spend a lot of time on the terrace and balcony, so it wasn't a major issue, but I'd like the size to be clearer. Some kitchen storage containers don't seem suitable for use anymore, and the coating on two pans is so worn I didn't want to use them. There are plenty of positives: mountain views and a lovely natural setting, with songbirds and squirrels at the overflowing bird feeder each morning and lizards on the terrace. The apartment is very clean, well designed, and well equipped, with a great kitchen, games, a cordless vacuum, and careful waste separation. There's a lot to do in the area, and the free Phyrn-Priel Card makes many attractions free or discounted. Those positives didn't outweigh the concerns for us, hence the 3 stars.
