Pension Nanga Parbat

The landscape is worth a holiday here on its own. The view is astonishing, and there's plenty of space outdoors for kids to play, dog walks, or just spending time together as a family. I don't know much about the pension itself, but I'd definitely recommend visiting for the scenery.

We only stayed briefly in summer, so I can't say what winter is like, but we had a great time and would choose Nanga Parbat again if we needed a place in this beautiful region. Though it's rated as a two-star pension, the reality is much better: our family room was clean and pleasant, with a terrace and beautiful mountain views. The owner was very nice, and she speaks only German, which you can take as part of the fun. Breakfast was a standard buffet, and the SAT-TV had some English channels, including NBC, CNN, and Eurosport.

Guests can use the free mountain railways, lakes, outdoor pools, museums, guided walks, public transport, and more between mid-May and mid-October, as often as they like. In winter, the trail starts right outside the house; in summer, the mountain bike route passes by, and there are plenty of walks you can start without driving. The secluded guesthouse Nanga Parbat at “Sonnenplatzerl Oberweng” in Spital am Pyhrn has a magnificent panoramic view and sunshine all day. We care a lot about a family atmosphere here. Come in, feel at home, and enjoy your time.
