The spa, fitness center, yoga classes, ski storage, rooftop pool, and relaxation room were all top notch. It was a magical spot for a ski trip, and easily the best place I've stayed. We were there four nights and had both breakfast and dinner. The buffet had so much variety it never got dull, and dinner choices changed each day. The food was great.

The taxi from the station was a lifesaver with a young child and all our luggage. Once there, we found the gondola and ski rental shops just minutes away. The staff were friendly, helpful, and amazing throughout our two nights at Hotel Berghof. Breakfast was fresh and appealing, and all the food was amazing. My son went to the kids club every day and didn't want to leave. We also loved the peaceful spa and its great views. We had just returned from our stay and were blown away.

The wellness area was a dream, and the hotel food and service were amazing. For skiing, it couldn't be more convenient: the gondola is a short walk away, and there's a ski room with equipment storage and boot warmers. A great place to stay, with plenty to keep you happy.

The breakfast was a strong point for me: I rated its selection 8, quality 9, and value for money 8. The whole stay came to an 8 for value. I stayed in a Junior Suite Deluxe from 06/03 to 07/03 2026. The room was spacious, with a large sofa and patio, and everything was well kept. I liked that the toilet and shower were in separate rooms. For bed firmness, I'd give it a 7 on my scale from 0, where you sink right through, to 10, where you stay on top of the mattress. The hotel has wonderful views and a luxurious feel, with very attentive reception service. It's about an hour's drive from Zurich and seems suited to a short visit or a longer stay for skiing or mountain hiking. One drawback: suites on the second floor share the patio with the other rooms on that floor. If I understood correctly, breakfast tables need to be booked.

We really liked the adults-only panorama pool, and Alpendorf is a great family ski area with the gondola just a very short walk away. The part of the hotel shown in the beautiful modern photos looks lovely and renovated, and I think guests there would get a five-star experience. We stayed in the vis a vis building, though, which is quite old, and street noise carried into the night. I'd recommend the hotel, but only if you stay in the renovated section.
