Gasthof Bad Hochmoos

The food was delicious, both the half-board meals and the a la carte options, and the hotel itself has excellent facilities. There's parking, a wellness area, a pool, sauna, steam room, and a secure ski room. It's superbly located near several ski areas, with Nordic ski tracks passing right outside. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and nothing seemed too much trouble. A first-class hotel, definitely worth visiting.

I have travelled in many countries and have never been treated this poorly. The staff made it obvious they didn't like people, especially Americans. The older waitress in the morning was particularly unpleasant, and she was also yelling at the younger waitresses. Guests could hear it, and it made the atmosphere really uncomfortable for no reason. I don't recommend this hotel. Go somewhere else where you'll be happier.

The Gasthof-Bad Hochmoos is in a handy spot between St. Martin and Lofer, making it easy to get to hiking trails and sights around the Salzburger Saalachtal region. The Schlechter family were warm and welcoming, and the mountain views from the spotless, comfortable rooms were lovely. We ate very well too, with generous portions of traditional Austrian food made with fresh ingredients. It was a wonderful family-run hotel that made us feel at home.

This was our second summer overnight stay, and we enjoyed it again. There were two adults and a 16-year-old from Denmark in our group. The rooms are roomy, attractive, comfortable, and have plenty of cupboard space. Breakfast was delicious, with a big choice of food and lots of local jams. It's worth the money, and we'd recommend a visit.
