Ufogel

The view was the highlight, absolutely fantastic. We spent two nights here and really enjoyed the short break. The place is compact but there’s plenty of room, and everything inside is lovely and well thought out. The landlord was very friendly too. We’d definitely like to come back sometime.

I liked the idea of this little cabin, and it works well for a short getaway. I’d keep a stay to 3-4 days, though. It’s quite remote, so you really need a car, and while the layout and handmade furnishings are creative, some things seem less practical over time than they first appear.

The host was welcoming and friendly, and it was clear that he cares about guests having a good stay. We spent a week at Ufogel in September 2018, with perfect weather that let us make the most of the beautiful surroundings and all the activities on offer. Inside, the place felt cozy and had high-quality furnishings with lots of thoughtful details. The view was fantastic too, right from bed you could look straight at the mountains.

The wood smell is intense and the views are breathtaking. Spooky. If you’re passing through Lienz, you really have to spend a night at this splendid place.
