Apart Hotel Legendaer

The pool was clean and pleasant, and breakfast delivered in a basket had plenty to choose from. We also appreciated that garage parking was included in the apartment price. The apart hotel itself was comfortable, clean, and really nice. The one odd thing was housekeeping: during our 3-night stay we got no fresh towels, and the bathroom supplies weren’t replenished at all. That’s not what I’d expect at a 4-star hotel.

The staff were lovely and the location was nice. We also enjoyed the clean, pleasant sauna and pool. The room, though, had a poor bed setup: what was supposed to be a queen or king bed was two single beds pushed together. I wouldn’t have booked it if I’d known. There was also an issue with the kitchen’s hot water, and no extractor fan to clear cooking smells.

The lake was beautiful, and the hotel staff were kind. But there were several things we weren’t told about beforehand. Breakfast had to be eaten in the room, the sauna is in a separate pavilion, and there was no advance information about applying for the area’s free or discounted card programs, so by the time we arrived it was too late. Even the key information wasn’t available in English, only German. The bathroom and washroom fan was so loud that I woke up several times, and the train outside was noisy too. Friday night’s game added to it. There was no dishwasher, which made the unusual breakfast arrangement awkward. We also found the dog cleaning charge high, and there weren’t extra chairs or lockers for packing.

The rooms were spotless and nicely arranged, with top-notch lake views. The interior has its own design and some lovely details, and the breakfast and spa area were great. What stayed with us most was the welcoming, homely feeling from the hotel and its staff. They gave guests privacy while still being discreetly present, which deserves praise. It had everything we needed for a proper holiday.
