Ferienhaus Clarissa

The owner was warm and accommodating, and our stay at the Clarissa holiday home was lovely. We’ll definitely return. I can’t make sense of the negative reviews, and would suggest contacting the owner directly instead of booking through Booking.com, since they explain everything clearly.

I canceled two days before arrival because of the weather, and then I was charged for the extra room. The booking had been non-refundable, so I felt I had no choice but to add that room after the provider told me there was no sofa bed, despite the listing describing a double bed and sofa bed for three people. Before that, I’d booked through Booking.com and transferred payment to the IBAN account as the provider asked. Only after the transfer went through did they ask where the third person would sleep. This felt like a scam.

The fitness room is well equipped and available free of charge at any time. Breakfast was okay, and the landlady was friendly. Our double room on the first floor was functional, though the bed in room 3 is falling apart. The sauna costs €23, which I think is too much for two people.

We mistakenly booked Haus Clarissa through Booking.com in December, and the holiday home provider wouldn’t reverse the booking error, which took only 10 minutes. It cost us over €500. We’d planned for seven people, but Haus Clarissa only offered accommodation for four, and communication was never adequate for our family. A complete rip-off.
