The view was amazing, but our room stayed too cold even after we told reception. The receptionist didn't tell us about the restaurant or breakfast, or give us that kind of information. Luckily, there were plenty of supermarkets and places to eat nearby.

The view over lake ossiach, castle of landskron, and city of villach is breathtaking. The rooms, though, are small and poorly furnished. On each of the three breakfast days, something had already run out quite early, whether sliced bread, natural yoghurt, or orange juice. We don't think the food on offer reflects the high quality of Austrian food, and assume it comes from Hungary. At the price they charge per night, that's unacceptable.

We made some lovely memories here, and our kid was happy, which matters most. I really recommend the hotel. It's close to the Gerlitzen slopes, about five minutes by car to one route or twenty minutes around the mountain to the kids' slopes. There are pharmacies, shops, Villach, and the other things you'll need nearby. Just be aware that everything around the hotel closes after 19h. The hotel impressed me with its nice details. The rooms are beautiful, the beds are good, and there's space for everything. I liked the library and the place where we had breakfast and dinner. We missed having a small fridge for drinks, but since it was winter we used the balcony. My room rating was only three stars because we could hear the neighbors talking, snoring, showering, and using the WC :D We were there for a winter holiday, though there wasn't snow in the valley. Luckily, there was some on the Gerlitzen slopes. The food was the disappointing part. In Villach we found one place worth mentioning for a meal, selling burgers that are among the top two I've had in Austria so far. Everything else seemed mediocre. Sorry, but I have high standards when it comes to food. Wienerschnitzel and pommes, spaghetti, and Gernknödel, which was better but sweet, didn't really do it for me. Balkan people are hard to please about food, haha.

All the hotel staff understood us and spoke English. We stayed one night with my family in July 2023, without a reservation, and they offered us a great room at a fair price when we arrived. The room had a beautiful view, and parking was right outside. We had a great schnitzel for dinner and a good breakfast.
