After a day of hiking, coming back to such a clean room and that mountain view from the balcony was wonderful. You can watch hikers passing by, too. The owners were warm, friendly, and always smiling. We ate dinner at the hotel several times, and the homemade food was simply delicious. It’s ideally located between the cable station and several hiking routes. A real hidden gem, and we’ll be back one day!

It’s a family run hotel and restaurant with a traditional Austrian feel and beautiful wood carvings in the rooms. The hosts are informal and will help however they can, even giving you a tow if you get stuck on the road. The location in the Montafoner Alps is hard to beat for summer hikes or winter skiing and snowboarding.

The drive up the mountain from schruns is really interesting, and the views are excellent. The family are wonderful hosts, friendly, helpful, and charming.
