Haus Martina

We felt so welcome at Haus Martina. The owners live upstairs and greeted us warmly, went over the basics, and even had two slices of delicious homemade cake ready. They also changed our towels halfway through the week, which was such a thoughtful surprise. Saying goodbye was hard, and we already miss them. The apartment is spotless and comfortable, about 1,200 meters above sea level. Its position works well for walks to Hintertux, with the bus stop only a few meters from the house, and trips to Mayrhofen and the rest of the Zillertal. There’s parking on site and two supermarkets just steps away, though they close on Sundays. The shops in Finkenberg and Mayrhofen are open then, but only in the morning. We loved the large balcony, with chairs, a table, two loungers and a clothesline. Inside, the living area has a comfortable sofa and a TV with RAI channels. The kitchen is well equipped with dishes, cutlery, glasses, an induction hob, microwave, oven, toaster and kettle. If you prefer coffee from a moka pot to filter coffee, bring your own. The spacious bedroom has a second TV and a small but useful walk-in closet. Bring sheets if you don’t like duvets. The bathroom is compact but well arranged, very clean, and has a nice shower and hairdryer. One personal suggestion: better blackout curtains in the bedroom might help. Dawn sunlight comes in strongly and can disturb your sleep.

The apartment was just right for the two of us, and we had a lovely holiday at Haus Martina. A supermarket and pizzeria are both less than 150 meters away. The location is fantastic, with a fantastic view. ⛷️

Everything you need is close by, from groceries to restaurants. The free ski bus to Hinter stops right nearby, and in winter the ski slope is just around the corner, connecting you with Mayerhofen and other lovely places. We found a beautiful apartment with a great mountain view from the terrace, and the friendly people there provided the service shown in the photos. Recommended.

It was quiet enough, and getting around was easy: the bus stop is about 75m away, the supermarket around 50m, and the ski slope about 200m. Walking to the glacier takes roughly 20-30 minutes. Everything was great, and we’d definitely come again!
