Alpin Appart

We stayed for just under a week and would love to come back, maybe in winter. The hosts were incredibly nice, friendly, and accommodating, and the apartments were lovely and spacious. The setting and surrounding area are stunning. It’s a bit secluded, but that’s exactly what we like. There are rabbits, guinea pigs, horses, and lots of alpacas and llamas. Zeus, the Bernese Mountain Dog, is an absolute sweetheart 🥰. Riding lessons can be booked on-site for €30 for a 30-minute private lesson. The daughter is a fantastic, patient teacher and very nice too. There’s also a small farm shop. You can use the app to pre-order bread rolls, eggs, cheese, bacon, and honey by 7:00 PM the evening before, then pick them up on the ground floor from 8:00 AM.

The owners are so helpful and always make time to listen. We feel right at home here, and the llama and alpaca walks are a real treat for everyone. With the hotel right beside the ski school, it’s easy to get ready and head straight out. We’ll be back next year. Such a warm, welcoming place!

Seeing llamas, alpacas, and horses from the room window first thing in the morning was a highlight, along with the farm dog Zeus, cats, and goats. There’s also a playground on the farm for children, especially nice for summer. We spent a week at Alpin Appart in Niederthai for a family winter break. The apartment was clean and practical, with comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen, and a cozy living room. Bread delivery worked well, and the ski school and a restaurant/café are right next door. Hiking, skiing, and sledding are all close by.

The Griesser family make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Kathy and Gerhard are warm and easy to talk to, and always happy to answer questions. You can tell they put a lot of care into making guests comfortable. We’ve had three winter holidays with them now, and have stayed in two apartments, both of which were spotless, fresh smelling, and furnished with care. Even though our Bernese Mountain Dog, Maya, is welcome, there was no trace of a previous dog. The windows were spotless too. The beds were made to order by a carpenter and feel very high quality. Both apartments were modern and suited to their layouts. The kitchens have all the basics, so you don’t have to wash dishes or run the dishwasher right after breakfast. The house also has a snug shared lounge with a fully equipped kitchenette that works well for several families. It’s easy to ski straight from the house, and the ski room is in the basement with indoor access, secure equipment storage, and boot dryers. The Niederthai Cart includes all ski lifts, and house guests can join the llama and alpaca trek for free. It’s fun for all ages. We also appreciated the bread delivery and the house-made alpine cheese, eggs, bacon, and honey. We’ve already booked our next winter trip and can’t wait to return. Thanks for such a lovely holiday! 🤗
