The rooms were fine, the food was very good, and the woman preparing breakfast in the morning gave amazing service, which is why I’m giving four stars. The downside is how close it is to a noisy road and river, so you’ll need earplugs.
The river and road right beside the house made it a little noisy, and you need to drive a bit to reach a larger town. Still, we were very happy with our stay. The owners were really friendly, the rooms simple but clean, and the small breakfast had what we needed.
Harvest time with Lisebeth and Émile is one of my wonderful childhood memories. I spent a month there with my parents in 1965, and it was pure bliss, my best holiday.
The spacious rooms and charming setting made for a pleasant stay, and the host was friendly. One thing to flag: Booking.com says there’s access to a shared kitchen, but that wasn’t actually available. Also, don’t mix this up with another Haus Acherkogel listed on Booking.com, in a village 15 minutes from Tumpen.
