Hotel Garni Ogris Am See

The woman who runs this hotel is one of the kindest people you could meet, and the breakfast is great. We stayed four nights during the GTI show, when other hotels were asking well over €1k, or even €4k, for four nights. This place was so cheap for what it offers, with amazing views and a price that's hard to beat. There’s a swimming deck, paddle boat, rooftop sauna and steam room, bikes, and a private car park. It’s a five-minute walk from the city centre. The rooms are a perfect size, and each has a balcony where smoking is allowed if you smoke. It has everything you need. I’ll definitely be back next year and every year after. If you get the chance, stay here. You won’t regret it.

Our room had a direct lake view, and the sunrise over the shimmering water each morning was unforgettable. We stayed at Hotel OGRIS am See in Velden am Wörthersee in August 2025 and felt completely at ease. The modern rooms, personal service and focus on sustainability and regional products made the stay especially enjoyable. It’s a lovingly run family business. After an active day, the panoramic sauna and large viewing terrace were a lovely place to relax and take in the lake. There’s an electric car charging station at the hotel, plus secure parking nearby, which made arriving and staying easy. The secure garage storage for SUP gear was handy too. The hotel is right on the water and just steps from Schlosshotel Velden. We enjoyed a morning swim from the private bathing jetty, and there are rental bikes and pedal boats for day trips. Breakfast, with regional products and that beautiful lake view, was fresh and delicious, and gave us a real holiday feeling. We’ll definitely be back to enjoy the lake, the activities, the food, the sustainability and those views again.

The breakfast was the highlight, made with so much care and leaving nothing to be desired. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, with heavenly beds and a wonderful lake view. We spent a few days there in July 2025 with our daughter and grandson. Ms. Meyer-Hainisch and the whole team were attentive and accommodating, and gave us such a warm welcome that we felt at home right away. A wonderful hotel on the lake. We’ll be back soon. The breakfast buffet was fresh, plentiful and varied, and clearly prepared with a lot of care. Our rooms were excellent for comfort, facilities, design, quality and cleanliness. This family-run hotel is right on the lake in a superb central spot and has its own private jetty. The staff were friendly and the service was top-notch. They also promptly and courteously handled special requests, including mobility needs, and the hotel’s accessibility features. We appreciated the help with local travel information and meals too. Everything worked perfectly for us, and the price-performance ratio was very good. We can wholeheartedly recommend it for a fantastic vacation.
