Landhaus Hochwimmer

There’s plenty of room in the house and parking is good. For skiing, it’s in a great spot, with the bus stop right outside. The setting is less ideal for staying in, though, since the road is fairly busy and there aren’t many shops or restaurants close by. We were disappointed that we couldn’t get to the terrace through the back door and had to walk around the house to the front instead. That would have been easier and more fun with our young children. The garden was also barely usable under a meter of snow, which we hadn’t expected, even though it may make sense in such a snowy area. The kids were especially disappointed.

The private garden was a lovely bonus, with a barbecue spot and a few simple games for children. We also enjoyed the river view and could hear the water all day and night. This two-storey chalet in Viehhofen, rented through Booking.com, has a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom downstairs. Upstairs there’s a bedroom with its own bathroom, plus two rooms facing the river with a bathroom between them. The Wi-Fi was fast. I’d strongly recommend this beautiful place to anyone after some peace, privacy and time to relax.
