Abai Hostel

The photos show a courtyard that supposedly belongs to the apartment, but the bathrooms have mold and there are scratches and holes on the bedroom wall. The surroundings feel unsafe. You even get filmed when you leave the bathroom after a shower. The surveillance camera isn't being used for a proper reason. 👎👎 Avoid this place and get a refund.

The room was tiny, with six beds, and there was just one small bathroom for 18 people, with no separate toilets. It was noisy at night from both trains and cars. After I left a bad review on Booking, the owner charged me another 20 euros for losing my keyholder, as shown in the attached picture, and for extra cleaning. My 100 euro deposit had already been refunded to my bank account. The day after I left, and just after posting that review, someone used my credit card number illegally. I'm going to contact the police and file a claim about it.

THIS IS A SCAM! If you want your vacation to become a nightmare, stay here. They charge too much for everything, even things like towels. Since there's no reception, they send you a pre-check-in form to get the access codes for the hotel and room. We filled it out the night before and got the instructions, but our check-in was at 2:00 pm and they still hadn't sent the front door code. We were left waiting from 2 until 5. Nobody answered the phone, and the mobile number on the signs seemed to be international and wouldn't connect. We had to make another reservation to have somewhere to sleep that night, and we're still waiting for a reply from the hotel. Luckily, we booked through Booking.com. They understood what happened and contacted "management" to refund our money. Don't waste your money or energy on this "establishment." Zero stars.

Our group arrived in April after booking and paying hundreds of euros, but no one was there and the host didn't answer any of our calls. We were supposed to get self check-in instructions, and instead we spent hours waiting in an ugly courtyard. We eventually managed to get a refund, but it took weeks. The Booking.com ratings seem fake to me, and I don't think it would have been a good place anyway.
