ARCOTEL AQ Wien

We'd happily stay here again. The location is convenient, especially with the train station nearby, and breakfast offered a nice selection. The room was spacious and laid out in a practical, thoughtful way, and the hotel felt clean and modern. Even the hallways smelled pleasant. The front desk team were especially kind and helpful when our luggage was delayed. They also lent us a power adapter, which we really appreciated.

The staff were wonderful, helping us check in early after a redeye so we could nap, keeping our bags while we explored before leaving, and finding an iron for shirts ahead of a work meeting. The buffet breakfast was tremendous, with everything you'd want to start the day. Rooms were clean and very quiet, the beds incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom a good size. Arcotel is just outside the central district, so it's quieter, but you can easily walk or take the tram to places. It was affordable too, great value, and we'd definitely return to Vienna.

The hotel is fresh and new, but only mediocre. It's about 20 minutes by tram from the city center, and breakfast is modest. Smoked salmon was the one plus. Rooms feel bare, with unshaded bulbs that are blinding and no shower shelves, even for shampoo. It seems basic details were missed. The toilet is separate from the bathroom, which is inconvenient. After the hotel's response, I want to add that shelves and lampshades have nothing to do with modern design or minimalism. It just seems whoever designed the rooms didn't think about guest comfort. I gave them useful feedback for free, pointing out what their “designer” had missed, but instead of thanking me or saying they'd fix things, they responded with nonsense. That's why I lowered my rating to two.

For my meetings in both the 1st and 19th districts, this location was ideal as a middle ground. Anyone wanting to be right in the old town might find it a little off the main tourist path, though. The ARCOTEL AQ Wien is a hidden gem with fantastic value, comfort, and attention to detail. Rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, the service team professional and friendly, and the fitness area is among the best-equipped hotel gyms I've seen in the city. A top address in Vienna.
