Arnes Hotel Vienna

The trams right outside make it easy to get around the city, and the staff are nice. The bedroom is fine, with a good bed, a large closet, a table and two chairs, a fridge, clean towels, liquid soap, and a hairdryer in the shower. But the layout is awkward: the shower is far from the toilet, which is by the front door, and you have to go through a hallway to reach them. That hallway is cold, and although there's a heater, it's not always on. There's no elevator, and reception is on the second floor, so carrying heavy bags upstairs is a bit of a job. They should have 'do not disturb' signs. Since the bedroom is far from the front door, it's hard to hear the maids knock, and they usually come in, which can catch you off guard.

A clean, basic room at a good price, with a really helpful receptionist. The area feels safe, and the place has a friendly vibe, with a bar downstairs. There are plenty of local kebab shops and minimarts nearby for water, fruit, and snacks to keep in your room's fridge. Some are open until around 10 pm. It's easy to get around: the number six tram stops right outside. Take it a few stops to the subway for the main attractions, or go the other way on the 6 for about 20 minutes to reach another cool shopping area. I'd recommend it if you're visiting Vienna on a budget.

Easy check-in and checkout, friendly staff, and reasonable rates even with a short notice booking. The room was clean, quiet, and fairly comfortable. There's no air conditioning, but they provided a fan, which we definitely needed. We could have used more toilet paper, though we managed. There isn't a restaurant or other food on site, but Vienna centre is close enough, with plenty of choices a few tram stops away.

I had to cancel and move to another hotel. The entrance, next to a restaurant, felt very shady, and I wouldn't call this a family place. Our room was large and spacious, but the bath and commode were in separate toilets. There's no lift either.
