Belvedere Residence Central Station

The station is well maintained and very central, with metro lines and buses within walking distance. There are also a variety of restaurants inside. We took a day trip to Bratislava, Slovakia, and ÓBB offers an all-day pass for ÈUR 19 that includes unlimited local transit in Bratislava for the day.

Getting a taxi is easy, with stands right by the exits, and the station is modern and spacious. The layout is straightforward, with clear signs in English, so it’s easy to get around without stress. There are plenty of shops, convenience stores, and ticket machines for picking up snacks, coffee, or tickets. Lots of lifts and accessible services make it welcoming for everyone. Vienna Main Station (Wien Hbf) feels efficient and very traveler-friendly. 🇦🇹👏🏻

The design at Vienna Central Station (Wien Hauptbahnof) makes it easy to use, with escalators and elevators. It looks modern, and I was really impressed. 👍👍👍

We were very disappointed by the official taxi queue outside the station. We took the first cab at the marked stand and paid €36 for a short ride that should usually be around €10-15. When we challenged the fare, the driver got confrontational and said other American passengers generally gave him another €25 as a tip. He gave us a receipt entirely in German, and the hotel front desk later said it might not be a valid or useful receipt. It left us with a terrible first impression of an otherwise beautiful city. The station itself is modern and looks recently renovated, and the surrounding area is clean, new, and attractive. We’d suggest using FreeNow or Uber instead of street taxis, since their prices are easier to see and check.
