The central location, very effective heating, and daily room cleaning made for a pleasant stay. Check-in, however, began badly. The blonde lady at reception scolded us over how we pronounced our surname in our own language, even after we spelled it out to help her. She claimed we were saying our own name incorrectly. On the way to the room, she also kept asking us to repeat what she had said to see if we understood. Perhaps a glass of Glühwein or chamomile tea from the nearby Christmas market would make communicating with tourists more comfortable.

My room was very clean, if a bit old fashioned. The walls were thin enough that I could hear exactly what the neighbours were doing, from showering to using the loo and washing their hands. Luckily, I'd brought earplugs! The staff were amazing, super helpful and friendly, and the hotel is in a great spot with the station very close by. I'd recommend it, apart from the thin walls.

The room had lots of space, a comfy bed, a bath, and a lovely view of the intriguing rooftops. It was clean and peaceful, and the location was great for a fair price. The hotel is a bit old school, but I found it charming. The three guys I met at reception, Chris and the man with glasses included, had great energy and were super friendly. I don't always expect that in Austria, no offence.

They took my money and never gave it back. Be careful and check all the details, because unfortunately you won't be able to change anything afterward.
