The owner was unreachable when we tried to get help. We paid for a clean place to sleep, but the unit was damp, dirty, smelled awful, and had pests. It was a basement apartment that didn't match how it had been presented. The mold and mildew smell hit us as soon as we walked in, and the air felt unhealthy and hard to breathe. Opening a window wasn't an option for fresh air, since it led straight into the building's garbage chute and brought in trash smells. The tiny patio was filthy, with old cigarette butts everywhere and a stale smoke odor, so we couldn't use it. When we moved the bed a little to plug in a charger, cockroaches and spiders scattered from behind the headboard. That points to a serious hygiene and pest control problem. Nobody should have to sleep in a room with roaches. Don't book this place. It should be taken off the site, and it deserves a zero.
