Fanaa Apartment

We didn't feel safe in the apartment, so even though there were three of us women, we left for another guesthouse. It was freezing and frightening. Booking.com received our complaint but offered no compensation, only €25 towards a future booking. I absolutely wouldn't recommend the place. We'd booked because it wasn't too far away, and the Booking.com reviews were mixed. I came with my aunt and cousin for New Year's. Finding the key was easy, but the apartment was at the far end of the complex's inner courtyard. The old wooden doors at the stairwell were fine in themselves, but inside, the unfinished-looking walls and broken open doors to a basement and bathrooms made the building feel intimidating. The apartment was on the second floor, and its doors had the kind of padding you see in psychiatric wards, to stop patients hurting themselves. There was one bedroom with two large beds, plus a room with a huge solarium and a sofa bed right in the middle of the path. Even with the heating on, that room was freezing in winter. The sheets and towels were badly worn.
