Gartenhotel Altmannsdorf

The breakfast was excellent, with a lovely view over the deer park that belongs to the old Altmannsdorf castle. The staff were friendly and obliging, and the rooms were large, spotless and furnished in a modern way. U6 Am Schöpfwerk is under a ten-minute walk away. Gartenhotel Altmannsdorf feels like Vienna’s best kept secret. Highly recommended.

The rooms were clean, and breakfast was delicious. We loved the garden setting, with deer and squirrels around, and the staff were friendly. The train and metro station was a short walk away, making downtown about 30 minutes away. This was one of the rare times a hotel delivered everything it advertised. We’d definitely return.

I hate leaving a negative review, but I don’t want other families to go through what we did. The room was filthy, with lots of dust and a dirty floor. It was 2 degrees Celsius outside, the heating wasn’t working, and we had two little children, aged one and three. The hotel didn’t give us another room, so we brought in a heater and spent the whole night worrying it might catch fire. Staff said they’d contact the manager about refunding our stay, but nobody ever got in touch and no money was returned. That was a very upsetting and disappointing experience. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it, especially to anyone traveling with young children.

The breakfast had lots to choose from, including hot and cold dishes and delicious desserts. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were kind and helpful. I liked the hotel’s garden setting, with deer around. I was very satisfied, everything was perfect.
