Hotel City Residence

My room smelled of stale cigarette smoke, and its window faced a three-lane main road. I couldn't open it for some fresh, cool air. I booked because I was told there would be a fan in the room, but there wasn't one. When I asked at the desk, I was told it was too late to get one that night and that they'd bring one tomorrow. I kept asking throughout the next day and was promised one, but it never arrived. I don't recommend this hotel.

I arrived with a room booked, only to find the hotel closed. I had to contact them, and the person who answered spoke very little English. They then told us to go to another hotel across the city.

My check-in was at 15:30 because the room was still dirty until then. It was awful, especially since this hotel says check-in is at 11.

For the €75 we paid, it was okay for one night. The room was a bit dusty and noisy at night, though not as bad as some reviews suggest. The lobby was cold and unheated. Towels had stains and holes, but the sheets and bathroom were clean. There's no in-room safe. WiFi mostly worked, but it would stop larger downloads automatically. I overheard the front desk man on the phone wanting to charge someone €220 for one night. Even €75 without breakfast already feels pricey for what you get, though I suppose that's Vienna.
