Hotel Raimundhof

The room was unbearably hot, so we had to keep the windows open because there was no air conditioning. The TV didn't work, and we only had one side of the small wardrobe. There was construction noise outside all the time, and the area felt pretty shady, though the metro and trams were close. There are shops nearby and a pretty church. The location was great, and we were mostly just coming and going, so I'm not really complaining. They don't provide much, but for the price, around €340 for five nights, I guess you can't expect much. The shower was decent and the toilet was so-so, but at least it was there. The bed wasn't too hard. I'd seen earlier comments about bed bugs and checked, but found none and had no problems.

The shower curtain was the only thing I found kind of disgusting. I was nervous after reading the other reviews, but for the price and location it was worth it. Westbahnhof is really close, about a 10-minute walk or one subway stop, and the station is right in front of the hotel. We stayed one night. The staff were friendly, and check-in and checkout were very flexible. Our room was huge, with furniture that looked about 100 years old, which was a funny experience. The beds were okay, and closing the windows at night kept things from being too loud.

The staff were okay, and I don't think the state of the place was their fault. The hotel looks good from the outside, and the location is handy, near Spar, five minutes from Mariahilferstraße and about 20 meters from the metro. Inside, the rooms looked old rather than antique or vintage. The walls were damaged, the shower had a lot of grime, and the carpets were dusty, dirty and very worn. The sheets had blood stains after bedbugs bit me all over my neck. Nothing seemed disinfected. The notice on the door said the last disinfection was 19.07.2023. Hello, it's 2024! The table lamp had no bulbs and was just decoration; the chandelier looked like it could fall on someone's head. There was a hole in the bathroom door, and the hot water didn't always work, so you had to use it halfway through a shower. The garden was like a jungle. During our five-day trip they were renovating, drilling every morning at 8, with dust everywhere. The old door did little to block the noise. They'd split one room into two for extra money, and you could hear everything next door through the plasterboard walls, with no insulation. I think the photos are from 15 years ago, when the hotel looked okay. I paid to visit Wien and relax, but was frustrated every morning. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Try another place for a few euros more.

Nicolas at reception was friendly and professional. The hotel is very good and well placed, just a stone's throw from the metro and tramway. A solid choice for a mid-range budget.
