Hotel Schani Salon

Kristina at reception/bar was so helpful and lovely. She gave us perfect directions, then overheard us talking about how much we love the Manner wafer biscuits in Vienna. Later that evening, we found a pack at our door with a personal note. What a superstar. The hotel is clean and cool, the location is perfect for everything, and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Such a great experience.

We were only after a bed for a couple of nights, since this Vienna stop was an add-on to another vacation and money was tight. I picked the hotel for its city centre location and competitive price, and the online photos looked good. The stay turned out to be far better than we expected. The staff stayed up for our late check-in, and there were complimentary croissants for breakfast, plus hot drinks and fruit through the day. The room was delightful, and the main hotel lounge had a lovely vibe. It’s tucked away but right in the thick of things, on the doorstep of Vienna’s museum district. I’d gladly come back and recommend it.

Free coffee and pastries are available throughout the day, and the staff are friendly. Breakfast is basic, and both the hotel and rooms have a quirky feel. The entrance is set back from the busy shopping street and you reach it by lift, but street noise didn’t affect us. Main tourist attractions are about a 15 minute walk away.

The croissants, coffee, and fruit in the morning were a treat, and there are other fabulous places close by too. We stayed three nights in Vienna and really liked Hotel Schani Salon. The room was clean and tastefully decorated, the bed very comfortable, and the underground is nearby. Thanks for a great stay!
