Breakfast was a real treat, with loads of pastries, breads and crepes, plus a changing cold selection of cheese, meat, smoked salmon and other things. The hot dishes were mostly the same each day, with a few small changes. And yes, you can have Sachertorte for breakfast. We loved it. My wife and I stayed six nights in December. Our room was the biggest and most comfortable one we had during our two weeks in Germany and Austria, with lots of room and a lovely bathroom. We also enjoyed the location, close to a subway stop and within easy reach of trams, restaurants, shops and Karlskirche. The front desk service was great, and the gentleman there made us a cappuccino that was one of the best I’ve had. The breakfast-room machine couldn’t quite match it. A delightful stay.

The rooms were clean and tidy, and the staff were always friendly. It was a bit noisy, though, probably part of the deal with such a convenient location. Fine for a business trip of a night or two. There’s nothing to complain about, but other four-star hotels offer more. Breakfast was standard, there’s no restaurant, and the bar and lobby are small. No gym either, and the rooms are comparatively small.

We came mainly for the Christmas markets, and the central location made it easy to walk to plenty of them. For three of us, the room worked beautifully, with enough space not to feel crowded and a nice bed plus a sofa bed. Breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly, approachable and accommodating. They kept our bags before check-in and after check-out, and arranged a car to the airport. I’d happily stay here again.

We slept very well in our room. It was on the top floor, at the end of the corridor and facing away from the street, so keep that in mind. The rooms were well insulated and we didn’t hear other guests or outside noise. Two pillows per person let us choose the height we liked. There’s a minibar for an extra charge. The bathroom had a hair dryer, two glasses and a sewing kit, along with shampoo and body wash in one large dispenser, hand wash and lotion in another, and conditioner in a small bottle. The one little annoyance was that the bath and shower water temperature was difficult to control and kept changing. Both the room and bathroom were very clean. For our three-day Vienna trip, the hotel was convenient, right by the U-Bahn. Karlsplatz, with more connections including Schönbrunn, was a 10 to 15 minute walk. Hauptbahnhof was under 20 minutes on foot or one U-Bahn stop away. Staff spoke German and English. There’s breakfast at the hotel, and plenty of other options outside too.
